Chihuahua -
Small and fragile but alert and bold, these dogs are the world's smallest breed. They are named after the Mexican
state from which it was first exported. One undisputed fact is that Chihuahuas are the ultimate toy lap dogs.
Both the short haired and more temperature resistant long haired variety offer humor, comfort and companionship.
Their coats come in many colors from white to black/tan and many colors in between. Grooming is minimal for the
short coats and more frequently for the long coats. Chihuahuas weigh 2 to 6 lbs and stand 6-9" at the shoulders.

Sizes of Chihuahuas:
( Some breeders use different terms but all are basically the same) * Small - Smaller - Smallest * if you like! *

"Smallest" -Very delicate. Will weigh between 2 and 3lbs full grown. This size Chihuahua
needs extra attention and a lot of lap time. Will be a perfect "purse puppy" - they love to ride in the car and
are excited to go places as long as they are kept warm. It is not recommended for breeding or to have around small children.

"Smaller" - these will weigh between 3 & 4 lbs, still small enough for a "purse puppy"
but not as fragile as the smallest Chihuahua. As Chihuahua breeders we still do not recommend this
size female for breeding .

Standard - will weigh up to 6 lbs. They are a joy to have around. Still small enough to be your
ultimate lap dog and will be forever your loyal friend and companion.
